Sports Events, Sports Days and Celebrations at 5rings
5rings has hosted corporate sports days, preschool annual sports meets and state-level championships at its Chennai venues since 2021. Two grounds are available — a full outdoor cricket ground and indoor turf at Ambattur Industrial Estate, and a 6,000 sq ft turf with covered and open celebration space at Mel Ayanambakkam. We handle the ground, the marking, the setup and the vendor coordination, so the organiser turns up to an event that is ready to run.
Corporate sports events and employee tournaments
Companies have run cricket, football and badminton tournaments and full employee sports days at 5rings, including ICICI Bank, Wheels India, Brakes India and Toshniwal.
The outdoor cricket ground at Ambattur Industrial Estate is the largest asset we have and the one most Chennai turf venues cannot offer — a full ground with a marked boundary, not a box-cricket cage. Alongside it the indoor turf runs football, box cricket and volleyball, and the indoor courts cover table tennis and badminton, so a single-day multi-sport format can run in parallel rather than in sequence.
What we arrange: ground preparation and marking, tents, stage, chairs, sound and mic, lighting, backdrops, medals, trophies and umpires. Setup is through vendors we work with regularly.
Refreshments: we will connect you with catering vendors we have worked with, and you contract them directly. We do not supply food ourselves.
Capacity: the outdoor ground at Ambattur Industrial Estate has hosted events of several hundred participants and spectators.
School and preschool annual sports days
Preschools and schools have held their annual sports meets at 5rings, including EuroKids and Little Millennium.
The outdoor ground at Ambattur Industrial Estate is marked into numbered running lanes for the day, with a shaded parents' gallery down one side, a stage and backdrop for the march-past and prize-giving, and a trophy table. Events for nursery and kindergarten age groups run on soft ground; older age groups use the full lane setup. The indoor turf is available as a wet-weather fallback, which matters for a December or January sports day.
What we arrange: lane marking, tents and shaded parent seating, stage, backdrop, sound and mic, medals and trophies, and marshals through the schools' own staff or ours as agreed.
Weekday mornings are the usual slot and are the easiest to book.
Association tournaments and state championships
Sports associations and federations use 5rings as a championship venue.
Events hosted at Ambattur Industrial Estate include the 18th State Taekwon-do Championship (Taekwon-do Association of Tamil Nadu, ITF), a district Muaythai championship, the Elshaddai Open silambam tournament, Silambam Veerakalai belt tests, and the 1st Tamil Nadu State Partially Sighted Football Championships in January 2024, organised by the Tamil Nadu Blind Football Association, where 5rings was the hospitality partner.
The indoor turf takes competition matting, a ring, or a full mat area with judge tables, scoreboards and a podium, and holds a seated participant group of well over a hundred with room for officials and spectators. Being open 24 hours means a two-day championship schedule with early starts and late finals is not a problem.
What we arrange: mat and ring space, podium, judge and scorer tables, chairs, sound, banners and backdrop mounting, and floodlighting.
Birthdays and celebrations at Biinnggo 5rings Turf, Mel Ayanambakkam
The Mel Ayanambakkam venue is available for celebrations, with or without a sports activity — birthdays and cake cutting, get-togethers, team promotions, farewell and retirement parties, and surprise parties.
The space: a 6,000 sq ft turf, of which 400 sq ft is covered with removable floor matting, and an open area beside it with a backdrop, table and lighting. The turf itself can be booked for a football or box cricket match before or after the celebration, or left out entirely. A pickleball court is under construction and will add another option.
The venue is open 24 hours, so evening and late-night slots are available.
What we arrange: the space, tables and chairs, backdrop, lighting and sound through our vendors. Cake and catering are yours to arrange, and we will point you to vendors we have worked with.
